O.J. Simpson, a "New" Confession?

In an exclusive AP report, Linda Deutsch is  reporting that O.J. Simpson’s ex-manager is stating that O.J. Simpson confessed to him that he murdered Nicole Brown Simpson.  Mike Gilbert claims in his new book, “How I helped O.J. Get Away with Murder: The Shocking Inside Story of Violence, Loyalty, Regret and Remorse,” that O.J.  confessed the murder to him while O.J. was in a marijuana induced stupor.

Gilbert writes that he was with O.J.  at O.J.’s Brentwood home a few weeks after the murder.  Gilbert claims O.J. was drinking beer and smoking pot when O.J. told Gilbert that he had gone to Nicole Brown Simpson’s condo that fateful night.  Simpson allegedly told Gilbert that Nicole had a knife in her hand when she answered the door.  Supposedly, according to Gilbert, O.J. told him, "If she hadn't opened that door with a knife in her hand ... she'd still be alive."

Gilbert also claims he told Simpson during the murder trial to stop taking his arthritis medicine so O.J.’s hands would swell, which in turn would cause the gloves to not fit.  Gilbert further incriminates himself when he writes that he had a deal with Simpson whereby Gilbert would collect money from Simpson’s autograph signing sessions, then keep 20% for himself and send Simpson the remaining 80%.

While it probably isn’t new news that O.J. Simpson murdered his ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman, it is rather strange Gilbert would admit his role in hiding Simpson’s assets.

Questions:

Is Gilbert believable?

Was Gilbert’s story concocted solely to sell book?

Was Gilbert merely seeking his 15 minutes of fame?

Will Fred Goldman’s attorneys be able to get a judgment against Gilbert for laundering Simpson’s money?

Accessory to murder, whether before or after the fact, is punishable the same as murder under California law and there is no statute of limitations. Not only should Fred Goldman take all his money, but the L.A.P.D. should see if they can independently corroborate Gilbert's story, then arrest him and charge him with murder. This guy is a real moron!

It's not necessary for O.J. to admit to the murders. It has already been proven that he did it, but the stupid American Judicial system allowed him to go free.

I hope I live long enough to see O.J. and all of those who helped him get what's coming to them. Does anyone know what happened to the case in Vegas? Is it still pending?

Believable?

Why not? Believable in total? Come on, it’s Simpson and his circle of associates.

Book revenue?

You bet.

15 minutes of fame?

Absolutely

Gilbert laundering Simpson’s money and Goldman?

Gilbert’s already shown this potential with his involvement in the disappearance and reappearance of Simpson’s Heisman Trophy during the Goldman civil remedy. If that’s what Gilbert claims then Goldman should pursue the matter and see what’s there. IRS should look into it as well.

Was Gilbert an accessory after the fact and did he commit misprision of a felony? Based on his claims I’d vote to convict if he went to trial. Could I convince a D.A. to file charges against him if I was investigating him? I can hear the D.A. now, “Have to prove a crime was committed and by whom to charge accessory atf or misprision. Since Orenthal James was acquitted can’t charge Gilbert with being an accessory atf to Simpson. Same goes for misprision. Can’t file on a person solely on what they say.”

You know, I think I’d have to agree with the D.A. as sad as that sounds. But I’ll leave this to the cable news shows to analyze, hash, rehash, triple-hash and decide. I can see Greta and her legal talking heads now.
